Art workshop with Kirsten from The Flourishing Well

Updated: Apr 19, 2023

The Flourishing Well is delighted to announce our next session as part of the MIDDAS (Music – Inspiration – Dance – Drumming – Art – Song) wellbeing project.

Sunday 30th April, 2pm - 4.30pm

St.Cyrus Village Hall, Main Street, St.Cyrus DD10 0BA

We are delighted to welcome Montrose artist Kirsten Ritchie Walker DA to host her art workshop with The Flourishing Well.

The workshop will offer a variety of options for the participants to choose from, with a selection of mediums including scraper board, pastel, pencil, watercolour, ink, and acrylic.

There will be a selection of different subjects for you to draw or paint.

Everyone will be able to take a piece of finished work home with them.

The workshop will be 2.5 hours. Kirsten will provide all the materials so participants only need to bring an apron or old shirt to protect their clothes. Alternatively, you can just wear old clothes! Kirsten doesn’t anticipate it being overly messy, but it's better to err on the side of caution!

Montrose artist Kirsten Ritchie Walker DA trained in Drawing and Painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art between 1977-1981.

Post graduate art teaching certificate - Dundee College of Education 1981-1982.

Kirsten has worked mainly on commissioned paintings of all subjects, but mainly portraiture, for the past 43 years.

Kirsten has also had work included in various exhibitions, including the Scottish Society of Women Artists and the Aberdeen Artists.

As well as painting commissioned works in her own studio, Kirsten also teaches her own Drawing and Painting classes in the Clay Half Studio in Montrose and is a tutor for other art groups in Angus.
